PAWS.  I chose PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society) as my NGO because of its long-standing dedication to animal welfare in Malaysia. PAWS provides shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for unwanted, abandoned, and stray animals, and it has been doing so since 1987. QUESTION 1 What is SPCA Selangor? Answer The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to     Animals (SPCA) is an organization  dedicated to the protection of vulnerable animals and the relief of their suffering. SPCA operates a temporary shelter for unwanted animals in Selangor and the Federal Territory, primarily caring for cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs—pets that have been discarded by their owners (SPCA Selangor, n.d.). QUESTION 2 When was SPCA Selangor founded and who were its key founders? Answer SPCA Selangor is a well-respected integrated animal welfare organisation registered with the Registrar of Societies. According to the Wikipedia entry on SPCA Selangor (n.d.), the organization was founded in 1958 by Ruth Spiers.SPCA Selangor promotes kindness and compassion towards all animals great and small, aiming to alleviate cruelty and reduce suffering.
