NGO Selection for Next Week (group's general game plan)

- Each person will take turns to explain the reasons why their chosen NGO should be selected, and why they personally chose that NGO.

- After that, we will choose the best NGO among the choices.

Individual Updates

1. NGO chosen.

2. Why this NGO?

3. Where is your progress now?

4. What are you planning to do next for your research?

0138750 Hanson Lim

1. SPCA Selangor

2. This is the NGO I’ve chosen for my market research, it is a NGO that helps stray animals. I chose this NGO because as someone who has a pet dog I feel pity for the pets when their owners leave them at SPCA. I feel the need to help them so that SPCA can continue to help the stray animals.

3. Currently, I’m still thinking on what my questions should include to fully let everyone understand their motive and mission.

4. Although I have done most of the research online on social media post and blogs. I will still continue my research mostly by trying to contact SPCA so I can have a more detail understanding of the organization and its goals.

1. PAWS Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

2. I chose PAWS as an NGO because it is a long-standing and trusted animal shelter with a strong track record in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray animals. Their commitment to responsible pet ownership, transparent operations, and openness to volunteers and donors makes them a meaningful organization to support in improving animal welfare.

3. I’m still researching for more questions about PAWS.

4. For the next step in my research, I plan to gather more detailed insights into PAWS’ current programs, such as their adoption rates, volunteer activities, and community outreach efforts. I also intend to compare their impact with other local animal NGOs to better understand their unique contributions and areas for improvement.

1. Malaysian National Animal Welfare Foundation (MNAWF)

2. I chose MNAWF because I care about animal welfare and believe every animal deserves kindness. They educate people, encourage adoption, and give a voice to animals that can’t speak for themselves. By understanding and sharing their mission, I hope to encourage others to realize that even the smallest acts of kindness toward animals can create a meaningful impact.

3. I’m currently searching for the SWOT analysis of MNAWF (Malaysian National Animal Welfare Foundation).

4. I’m planning to explore more in-depth information about MNAWF, beyond just surface details like their mission. I want to understand how their programs actually work, the challenges they face on the ground and so on.

1. Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia

2. I was drawn to their efficient approach which involves rescuing surplus food from the manufacturers, wholesalers, hypermarkets and hotel industry. They sort and redistribute it to the identified targeted B40 communities in higher learning institutions, charity homes and more through their strategic partners which helps in reducing food waste and lessen the cost of living of underprivileged Malaysians. I also liked how the website is well organized and provides abundant information.

3. I am currently finalizing the main questions and adding follow up questions to make sure they are covering a wide range of details and are informative. Aside from that, I am also gathering information for the answers and to conduct a SWOT analysis.

4. I am planning to contact Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia through email to ask about additional information that are not displayed on the website. For instance, the threats or challenges faced in running the NGO. I will also stay updated on their ongoing campaigns, activities and upcoming projects.

3. I am processing in researching this company references.

4. Next time I will research more history of this company.

1. Zero Waste Malaysia (ZWM)

2. I choose this ZWM as my NGO because i believe all people in Malaysia must been aware about the importance of sustainable development in their life such as reducing use of plastics and recycling their waste as much as they could. This awareness could help reduce global pollution and global warming in Malaysia that could give more healthier lifestyle.

3. Currently, i’m working on researching about ZWM campaigns to our communities through various types of ways over the last 2 years

4. Next time, i will be planning to research using SWOT analysis about ZWM, specifically their threats in order for me to have ideas to help this NGO. Also, I want to get know more about their future plans in educating and involving more people to practice zero waste lifestyle.
